Let's Talk Non-Temporary Storage

Non-Temp Storage (NTS) is a storage shipment entitlement you may be authorized if going OCONUS or to some schoolhouse locations. The items that you are not wanting to take with you to your next location will go into NTS. NTS is generally stored at your origin location, or within 50 miles of this location. Storage facilities are not guaranteed to be climate controlled.

You may do self-procured NTS at your origin location. You will need to visit your transportation office in order to set this up.

If you have back-to-back OCONUS orders, you may need to contact your transportation office or JPPSO with a copy of your orders to extend your storage entitlement.

Once you request release of your NTS shipment, it must be delivered. Storage in transit (temp storage at origin) is not authorized on NTS shipments.
