Mileage
How PCS mileage works for up to two vehicles, and where to check the current rate.
When you drive to your new duty station, you are paid mileage for the official distance between your old and new locations.
- Mileage rates are set by calendar year.
- You can claim mileage for up to 2 POVs.
Before your PCS, check the current mileage rate for any updates: Mileage Rates | Defense Travel Management Office
Mileage is separate from per diem, which covers your lodging and meals on travel days. See the Per Diem piece in this series for how travel days are calculated.
